According to results of the “E-mail Marketing Consumer Report” commissioned by ContactLab, every day in Italy Internet users received 420 million of e-mails, not taking into account the equally numerous of spam.
The digital marketing experts explain that this enormous amount of e-mail are delivered over 51 million email enabled, which is approximately 2.3 per user, with an average of almost 20 messages for each Italian Internet users more than 15 years old .
Further emerging data is that, in Italy in one year there has been an increase of 20% of the volume of e-mail inbox. Grows even the habit of checking email from the smartphone: about 4 million users check their e-mail from mobile devices like iPhone or BlackBerry.
The mail service most used in Italy is Hotmail (40.7%), followed by Libero (35.7%), Alice-Tin.it-Virgilio, Yahoo! and Gmail (between 20 and 24% each).
Such data seem to confirm and reinforce the idea of the potential of e-mail marketing in the actual Italian market.
